The purpose of the position is to oversee the risk, health and safety functions for the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium events and its patrons.
Required Minimum Education and Training
Special Events Training
Fire & First Aid Training
A qualification in Safety Management – i.e. SAMTRAC
Registration with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
5 - 10 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Officer.
Experience working as a Special Events Officer.
Must be in possession of valid Code B driver’s License.

Responsibilities & Performance Areas
Management of planning of risk, safety & health for stadium events and functions.
Schedule and oversee planning sessions for each event to monitor progress.
Draw up plans that include identification of resources required, deadlines, time-lines and requirements of individuals. Ensure that resources are in place for every event.
Submit safety and security plan to all stakeholders internally and externally.
Execute project plan for each event and Compile post event reports
Oversee monitoring of security services.
Ensure legal compliance for stadium with respect to health and safety
Ensure accreditation process and procedure is followed with regard to stadium events.
Oversee design, printing and issuing to eligible recipients for events.
Ensure policies, processes and controls for the stadium around Risk Health and safety and ensure communication to relevant stakeholders.
