Khaya Ngcangca
Medium used: Fabric
Artist statement:
My work is inspired by people and their mood, particularly a happy mood. I believe we as people have been through a lot, we can not cry or be sad for the rest of our lives. Hence my work portrays people with a smile and laughing. A smile from one person to another shows that you are welcomed, which is why I want people to feel welcomed when they look at my work and smile back at it. I use African print/fabric on canvas as my medium. I like it because it creates texture and makes you feel like touching the work.
